150 No Arches were manufactured for this residential development built in the heart of London. 17 different styles of arch were produced using five different brick types.
The quality and attention to detail of the brickwork and construction in general on this site was exceptional. It is well worth a visit if you are considering specifying arches. Some 12 different elevations and an extensive courtyard illustrate numerous combinations of colour, texture, bond detail and joint finish. Within the courtyard some elevations were retained during construction and the new build is detailed to match existing. Segmental and flat gauged arches in this area were made using red rubber material. These had a 3mm joint and were supplied pre-pointed with a white cementitious grout to match lime putty. 7mm joints were used in other elevations where large segmental arches made from buff stocks were used. These were pointed on site in order to match surrounding brickwork. Soldier lintels with a rebated bullnose and corner returns were also supplied in precast form. Links to other pages |
